The one good thing about being in a house full of guys who kept rabbiting on about how they needed their beauty sleep, was that it allowed Lucius to spend some quality time with himself in the common room after they had gone up off to bed. And so Lucius sat himself down on the sofa closest to the fire, lying down and spreading out right along the length of it, his feet toasting near the naked flame. Some marshmallows would probably have been a nice thing to have right then, but Lucius was comfortable and couldn't be bothered to get up and get any. Besides, it would involve a trek down to the kitchens as Lucius remembered he no longer had any marshmallows upstairs in his trunk. Lucius sighed contently and stretched out as he yawned, placing his hands behind his head as his whole body shook from the size of the yawn. It was only early but still, Lucius felt pretty tired, he had had quite a long run that morning after all.
You could probably say that Lucius was obsessed with his weight, which would be half true. To tell the truth, Lucius couldn't care less what weight he was, so long as he wasn't fat and had some muscle definition. He could get away with just playing quidditch and taking a run every morning as exercise and this suited Lucius fine as he really couldn't be bothered to work out any more than that anyway. Lucius rested a hand on his stomach, perhaps to ensure that he hadn't suddenly became fat in the last ten minutes, and his other hand dropped to take care of a scratch down in the lower regions. Lucius would never have done so in the company of other people, but he was alone and so no one could see him sort himself out in a rather unattractive fashion. Lucius twisted on the sofa again, making himself comfortable and trying to get some warmth from the almost dead fire. He hadn't really dressed to be lying in the common room, with his green, rather tight boxers and think black T-shirt.

Tossing and turning in her four-poster bed for what seemed like the hundredth time that night, Lyra snapped awake. She sat up in her bed, sighing slightly as her eyes went around the room filled with sleeping girls. Lucky witches, the blonde thought, spitefully. Standing from her bed, she walked down to the common room, her hand tracing the stone wall lightly. This was a near nightly routine for Lyra, she hardly ever slept the entire night through. In fact, she couldn't remember the last time she had. As such, she expected this to be what could only be defined as 'Lyra Time' though she'd never use that phrase in the company of others. As a result, she assumed she'd be alone, therefore she didn't bother grabbing anything to cover the lack of clothes she'd been sleeping in. Which happened to be black boy shorts and a form fitting dark green spaghetti strap shirt.
She seemed to freeze on the last step as she noticed that the common room was not in fact empty as she thought it would be. Relaxing slightly as she noticed who it was, she smirked and walked over to the boy shed known for what seemed to be her entire life. "It's official," she stated, making herself known. "We're insane if we're down here dressed as we are.." She was vaguely aware she was close to freezing herself into ice. She smiled in what would have been taken as innocence had it not been Lyra. "But you can always keep me warm," she commented, leaning down on the floor and watching him through intense steel blue eyes. [/blockquote]

Lucius was just about getting to the stage where his mind was going to drift off and his body would finally shut down and succumb to the sleep that had been pressing onto him for so long. It was strange, but now that Lucius was away from the dormitory and his own bed, he felt more inclined to sleep. Even though he was pretty good and had to stretch out close to the fire to get any warmth at all, Lucius felt more comfortable down in the Common Room all by himself. Or so he thought. Lucius eyelids had shut closed for only a few seconds when Lyra suddenly made her entrance. Lucius jumped slightly and his eyes flew open, taking in the view of Lyra standing close by him, wearing very few clothes. Lucius couldn't help himself and his tongue ran along his bottom lip as he eyes wandered over Lyra's entire body. Well, well well. Lucius could certainly deal with being all alone in the Common Room with Lyra, no one around to see of hear them. This could turn into a most interesting night after all.
"I'd say you were wearing less than me," said Lucius, his face set in a smirk. "But I would be more than happy to, as you say, warm you up." Lucius pulled himself up into a sitting position, taking up one end of the sofa. He patted the space next to him, motioning for Lyra to take a seat. Well he could hardly set about warming her up when she was standing over there. Anyone else might feel uncomfortable with Lyra looking at them in such a way, but Lucius had known her for too long and was too confident in himself to feel anything other than the want to take away the little bit of clothing she was currently wearing. "Trouble sleeping?" said Lucius with a yawn, his hands reaching up to play with a strand of hair that had fallen onto his face. He wasn't sure why, but Lucius was suddenly feeling very sleepy though he knew that he wouldn't be getting a lot of sleep tonight, not in the currently circumstances anyway.

Placing her hands on her hips, Lyra smirked playfully at him. "Are you complaining I'm wearing less then you are? Because I do believe that would be a first." She nodded seriously and sat down next to him, for once glad that she didn't take the spell that concealed her scars and bruises off her before she went to bed. She nodded her head, slowly. Biting her bottom lip lightly, she cast her eyes in his direction once more. Turning to face him, she rested her head on his shoulder, subconsciously kissing his neck lightly. "I always have trouble sleeping," she commented in a whisper, vaguely. [/blockquote]

Lucius raised an eyebrow at Lyra, his smirk changing to a cheeky smile. Well of course he wasn't complaining that she was wearing less than him, it would just mean taking off less when the time came when wearing clothes became a burden, something Lucius was very much looking forward to right now. "No,"muttered Lucius with a pout. "I'm complaining about the fact that you are currently wearing more than nothing." Lucius kept his eyes on Lyra as she crossed the common room and took a seat beside him. Lucius shifted in his seat, ensuring that he was closer to Lyra and that he was seated comfortably, seeing as it looked like they would be spending quite a bit of time there tonight. Lucius squirmed slightly as he felt Lyra's lips on his neck, his hands wandering across Lyra's back until one came to a rest on her hips and the other one in her hair.
"You worry me Lyra," mumbled Lucius, his breath catching in his throat. "You really should be sleeping more." Lucius had noticed quite a while back that Lyra never seemed to be able to sleep and it often got him to wondering why on earth she didn't. She seemed pretty active during the day and never that tired, yet he hardly ever actually saw her sleep. Lucius was about to ask her why she didn't sleep, but decided that now was neither the time nor the place and that he could ask her in the morning when they were finished. Putting a hand beneath her chin, Lucius raised Lyra's head and kissed her right on the lips, his mouth opening hungrily. It had been a while since they had done this and to tell the truth, Lucius had rather missed the intimate company he kept with Lyra.

Lyra flashed a smile, her signature that seemed to make any one of the male population in the school melt. Twirling a strand of hair, she leaned over and place her finger on his lips. "Don't pout to me," she whispered, "That's my job." She closed her eyes, old habits controlling her, as his hand met her hips. Murmuring softly, she kissed his neck again, biting lightly. People didn't call her a vampire for nothing though she always denied such things. But it seemed to follow her as a slight joke now.
About to tell him that sleep was 'highly overrated', Lyra was cut off by a kiss. Kissing him back, just as hungrily, she shifted slightly so she was straddling him. She had no impulse control over her body or thoughts when it came to Lucius. And that drove her insane. She had still yet to figure out if it was in a bad way, or a good one. [/blockquote]

Lucius wasn't sure whether it was the lack of oxygen or whatever, but he was finding it increasingly hard to breathe and his mind kept wandering off, mostly thinking about Narcissa and what she was currently doing in bed all by herself. The mere thought sent Lucius insane and he only hoped that she was doing what he thought she could possibly be doing. No matter how much he tried to tell himself that he was not in love with Narcissa and how he would hate to be chained to one person, Lucius just couldn't keep her thoughts off of her. Lucius growled and pushed himself even closer to Lyra, wanting very much to feel a female body against his own. His hand tangling into her hair and allowing it to filter through his fingers, Lucius opened his legs further, welcoming the closeness that came with Lyra straddling him. His hands wandering up her thigh slowly, all Lucius could think about was his fingers playing against Narcissa's soft and pale flesh, continuing on their path until they could go no further. "Narcissa..." groaned Lucius, his hands everywhere and anywhere on the figure sitting atop him, pressing her head closer to his own to deepen the kiss.

Breaking the kiss, she pushed him away from her, a slightly confused look in her eyes. Lyra's mind skidded to a halt at a dangerously fast speed. She slapped his hands off of her, and, after disentangling herself from him, she stood up and looked at him sharply, her eyes an oddly piercing slate grey. Not the slightest blue tint was in her eyes. She was far beyond livid. "What? she hissed, making it quite clear she was extremely pissed off with him. Something that he rarely got on the receiving end of. This has never happened. None of it had. Another name was never spoken while Lyra was 'keeping someone occupied', and she had never, ever been this outraged. And the fact it was Lucius made her four times as angry. Did he just...? No. He couldn't have, she thought, crossing her arms over her chest. He did not just say Narcissa. [/blockquote]

Lucius was just getting into it, finally sinking into the kiss without any other worries or thoughts, when Lyra practically jumped off of him, pushing him away from her and slapping his hands away. Brushing his hair out of his eyes, Lucius threw Lyra a bemused look, noticing the rather pissed off look on her face right at that moment. Lucius thought back to what he had been thinking about whilst kissing Lyra and his stomach dropped. He had been thinking about Narcissa. But how did Lyra know. Had he said something out loud. Lucius wasn't sure but he put his head in his hands all the same, wanting to kick himself. Not because he cared about Lyra and her feelings because Lucius had known for a long time that he didn't really care about feelings and all the crap, but because now he knew that he could not handle being with someone else and that his mind was always on Narcissa. Why did she have to have such a hold on him, that was just bloody annoying.
Lucius sighed and pulled his knees up onto the sofa, hugging them to his knees. Looking up into Lyra's now grey eyes, Lucius knew that he should probably feel bad for what he had done, but he had never felt bad and could not bring himself to feel it right now. Never in his life had he felt guilt after something he had done, and he wasn't about to start right now. "You might as well go back up off to bed," said Lucius tonelessly. "It's not like there's anything for you down here." Though Lucius had known Lyra practically all his life and considered her one of his best friends, it didn't mean that Lucius was any better at dealing with these situations. The only way he could think of sorting it out right now was turn to cold towards that person and hope they would leave him alone. Hence why he was suddenly being so mean to Lyra

As much as Lyra would love to hit him and leave, she couldn't. For two reasons, Hitting him would make matters oh so much worse, and she had no where to go. If she went back up to her dorm, the others would wake. "Can't," she said, her voice slightly on edge. "You know just as well as I do they will get all pissed off if I go up there and don't sleep. You know I won't -can't- sleep." She fell silent and began biting the inside of her cheek. She knew it would only be so long before she tasted blood though she couldn't stop. Her biggest flaw was her lack of impulse control, which was beginning to cause her to snap the rubber band on her wrist several times in a quick rhythm. After the fourth time, she slowed it down slightly as she began walking around the room. She was desperate to keep him from seeing her like this. No one had before. [/blockquote]

To tell the truth, Lucius had often thought that Lyra hurt herself or that something was seriously wrong with her, but she covered it up so well that Lucius was unsure. Besides, even if he had known for sure, he had absolutely no idea how to deal with someone who hurt themselves. He kind of understood why they did it, though he felt that didn't excuse the behaviour and that it was an extremely stupid thing to do. Right now, Lucius couldn't be bothered with it all and would much rather be asleep in bed, perhaps tomorrow would bring a better day and he could forget that any of this ever happened. "Not my problem," muttered Lucius who was beginning to get annoyed by the way Lyra was walking back and forth across the common room, flicking that stupid band on her wrist, obviously just another way of hurting herself.
Lucius head had begun to throb and he wanted nothing more than to be upstairs in the quiet, feeling that now he would probably fall straight off to sleep as soon as his head touched the pillow. Lucius was already bored of Lyra's company and he stood up off the sofa, smoothing down his green boxers where they had got bunched up whilst he had been sitting on the sofa. "I'm going to bed," muttered Lucius, crossing the room slowly, his feet cold on the carpet beneath them. Lucius decided that he should have a word with the house elves and get them to keep the fire going all night, the temperature was absolutely ridiculous down there at that time of night. "Sleep tight," said Lucius coldly.

Lyra's eyes snapped to him, fear filling her eyes for a moment before she quickly blinked it away. "Please," she pleaded, completely forgetting about the band on her wrist which was now still against her wrist, her pale skin slowly turning pink. "Please don't leave me alone," she nearly begged. She didn't trust herself to be alone at this point. Running her fingers over the welt that were slowly rising on her wrist, her eyes never left him. "I-" she stopped. What did she want to say? She wasn't even sure of that. Sighing silently, she decided that tonight was going to be imprinted in her memory for quite some time. "Look can we just ...talk?" she asked, the last word having trouble being said since she'd never asked of anyone. She'd normally stay completely silent, or she'd just start ranting, she never asked to talk with someone. Dropping her eyes to the floor, she sighed and walked over to the couch, not even looking up to see if he was still there or not. [/blockquote]

What the fuck did she want from him? Did she want him just to sit in the room and watch her bloody self harming? Just sit there and listen to her moaning about how she couldn't sleep? Lucius had no idea what he was supposed to do, no idea how he was supposed to act in these situations and so came to the conclusion that it was best for both of them if he just left. Lucius couldn't understand why Lyra would hurt herself and it angered Lucius that she did so. He leant against the wall and ran a distracted hand through his long hair, wishing he had never come down in the first place, wishing none of this had never happened. Why couldn't he have just fallen asleep? Bloody sleep patterns. Lucius straightened his boxer shorts and leant his head back against the cold, stone wall. "If you go upstairs, you wouldn't be alone," said Lucius harshly. He had no idea how to relate to Lyra now, had no idea what he was supposed to talk to her about. Anything she said would probably just anger him and make the whole night even worse. Lucius felt like going for a long walk, but didn't want to pass Lyra to get out of the Common Room. Going up to bed seemed like the best option for him right now. "And what would we talk about. Other ways in which we could harm ourselves? No Lyra." Lucius knew he was being out of order, but he didn't care in the slightest right now. He was tired and angry and frankly, he couldn't be bothered to be nice at all.

She sighed, dropping her eyes to her feet, suddenly finding them very interesting. "Please" she whispered, closing her eyes. The pleading tone to her voice was clear now as she ran her hand through her hair. She didn't have a clue what she was going to say, what to do. "We wouldn't talk about that. Merlin knows I don't need encouragement in that area. I just- I need to- to-" Damn. This was harder than she thought it was going to be. The girl turned around in her seat so she was on her knees, leaning against the back of the couch. "As much as it kills me and my pride to admit this, I need someone. I need you. To talk to you. You and I have been through enough together and I feel that I, in a way, owe it to you to finally tell you what's been happening." She had only talked about this with one person, and that was her mother who, in return, smacked her in the face with a book and called her a whore. Not knowing if that worked or not, she sighed and turned around to face the fire again. Her back was to Lucius. She didn't want this to wind up like when she told her mother. Though she had a horrible feeling in the pit of her stomach that it was going to. [/blockquote]

It wasn't often that Lucius did not have a clue what to do. He normally spent his time strutting around the castle, thinking he was right about everything and that nothing he did was wrong. Now here Lucius was, his back feeling particularly cold against the stone walls of the Common Room, wondering what the bloody hell to do to get out of the current situation he was in. Perhaps he could just run away and pretend it had never happened. The Slytherin inside himself just wouldn't let him do it though and so Lucius remained where he was, listening to Lyra but not actually hearing any of the words that came out of her mouth. She needed him did she? Lucius pushed himself up off the wall, anger bubbling in his veins and made his way quickly across the Common Room, coming to a stop just in front of Lyra. Lucius knelt down on the edge of the sofa, taking hold of Lyra tightly at the same time and pressing his lips fiercely onto hers, the hold on her so hard that there was no hope in her escaping. "Do you really need me Lyra?" growled Lucius dominantly. He shifted on the sofa so that he was even closer to Lyra when he reinstated the connection between his own and Lyra's lips. His hands were everywhere, leaving their mark as they travelled across her skin.
