Celestina Flamel turned over in her huge four poster bed and listened, carefully counting each chime of the huge clock in the courtyard. One.. two... three.. four.. five.. six.. seven.. eight.. nine... ten... eleven! She sat up, careful not to awaken Lily and the rest of the girls that shared her dorm. It was time.
She quietly parted the curtains of herbed and slipped out onto the floor, wincing awfully as her feet made contact with the freezing cold, flagged stone floor of the room. She quickly hurried into thick socks..
She was wearing long cotton pajama pants, red with a Gryffindor lion patch on the edge of the waistband and a drawstring tie. They would do.. she quickly pulled on a sweater over her sheer pajama top.. she didn't bother with a bra since it was dark out and she'd put on the sweater over her pajama top.. and.. frankly.. she wanted to be comfortable..
She quickly grabbed her wand as well as a thick blanket she'd conjured earlier and took off down the stairs as silently as a mouse with her wand and the blanket in hand. She felt a giddy sort of happy excitement build in her stomach at the prospect of seeing Remus again.. and a part of her worried about what would happen if he didn't come.. but she knew, somehow, that he would never do that to her.. he'd be there to meet her, just as they'd arranged.
She made it to the grounds in short order and, thankfully, met no professors or trouble of any kind. Her sock feet made little swishing noises in the grass and she hurried along to the arranged spot to meet Remus..

Remus wasn't sure what would be his best plan of action. If he didn't go, she would hate him, but then at least she would be safe. If he did go, then she wouldn't hate him and his own selfishness would have put her in more danger. He sat up in his bed, running his options in his head. With a sigh, he kicked off the blankets and stepped onto the floor.
He dug around for a sweater and decided that he would be warm enough in his sweats. He grabbed a pair of worn sneakers from under his bed and snatched his wand off the bedside table.
Getting in and out of the kitchen was a breeze. The elves gave him plenty of food, all sorts, all stuffed into a cloth sack. He ran into no trouble getting out onto the grounds and found himself thinking that this might be something that Sirius would do. He certainly never snuck out without his mates.
Celestina was waiting for him where they had agreed to meet. He couldn't suppress a grin and mentally cursed himself for it. "Hey." he whispered and held up the bag, "Kitchen successfully raided."

Celestina looked up from where she'd been sitting on the secluded little cove of lake bank. The night air was warm and balmy in a way that promised rain before morning... however, it was alright, for the present time, to stay out.. the warm air carressed her skin like a silk blanket.
She stood up from the grass when she saw him approaching, his silhouette darting towards her carrying some sort of a cloth bag, swinging at his side and casting a wavery shadow.
"Hey!" She said, trying not to sound too excited, but she just couldn't help it. Her face turned slightly pink. "You're a miracle worker, Remus!" She said with a smile as she saw the sack of food. In the end she hadn't had any supper because of homework and having tea and such, so by now, 7 hours later, she was getting rather hungry.
"I brought a couple of blankets." She said with a smile, spreading them out on the grass. "I'll make a more comfortable place to sit and I wasn't sure how warm it would be.. occupational hazard of changing countries." She said with a soft chuckle.

Remus sat down on the edge of the blanket. It was a nice night for this sort of thing. He gazed up at the sky, dotted with clear and bright stars. His eyes moved across, finding their way to the ever glowing moon. Remus stopped, his face frozen and eyes caught by the trance. Inside him, he could hear the wolf howl, an eager cry for the next midnight of freedom. He snapped himself out it quickly.
"Quite a night." he commented lightly, as if their had been no change in his actions.

Celestina smiled as she scooted over somewhat to sit next to him. She smiled again, unable to help herself. Being with him.. there was just something about him.. it made her somewhat week in the knees.. happy... and then it hit her... all in a flash... she liked him.. what was that was making her feel this way.. all jittery and happy inside.. and it was a good feeling... Do you like me back? Could you? Am I even good enough for you? She wondered.
"Yes.. quite a night.." then she noted something else.... he seemed to have frozen... completely.. watching.. the moon? She raised an eyebrow somewhat curiously.. "Remus? Are you alright?" She murmured softly, putting a gentle hand on his shoulder.. and when she did.. their eyes met.. and she was stuck.. looking into his eyes...

His eyes caught on hers and he found them far more captivating than the glowing moon. He didn't blink, for fear that he would find her looking away when he opened his eyes again. Remus took a moment to realize that she had asked him something.
"It was nothing. The moon, something about it." he said quietly, his voice vague. He had to stop this. He was caught between two forces; the calm and natural call of the moon or the sweet shelter of her eyes.
You're cursed Remus. Not only you, but everyone around you. He reminded himself. At that moment he regretted ever disagreeing to homeschool. It would have made life a hell of a lot easier.

She didn't blink either... couldn't... she had to keep looking into those amber eyes of his, or something dreadful was going to happen. It was like they had a hypnotic power over her..
"Oh..." She said, taking note of what he said, but putting it in the back of her mind.. she couldn't think about it right now... she was too busy just watching him... then... very... very slowly, tentatively, she reached up and brushed the very tips of her fingers across his cheek... very shyly..

Remus was almost certain that for the first time in his life, he had stopped breathing. At least, he couldn't register what he was doing. He couldn't think. There was endless, thick fog and then...her. That was it. The world had gone away somewhere, but he wasn't of the state of mind to go looking for it. Her fingers brushed lightly on his cheek and his senses came back to him. He couldn't, there was no way.
And yet, she was there, looking at him. And he felt like she could see him...all of him, even the wolf. But he knew, that if Celestina really could see the other side, she wouldn't be sitting here, with him. Remus was caught, in an impossible web, and there was no where to go.
Slowly, the hand that had been resting on the ground moved forward and placed itself on the finger tips of her other hand, the one that had remained on the ground. It had a mind of it's own. This couldn't end well.

It was like an electrical shock went through her body the moment his fingers touched hers.. and it made her eyes widen just slightly.. She couldn't move her hand from his face.. so she let it stay... his skin was so soft beneath her fingers... and his touch so very gentle on her hand...
Her eyes closed slightly as she scooted even a bit closer, as her face drew a bit nearer to his.. it was as if a kiss was imminent...and very slowly.. a soft breath spilled across his cheek as she waited, wanting him to close that inch or so of distance left between them and kiss her....

There really was not turning back by this point. His head was screaming at him, but he couldn't bring himself to listen to it. It was nagging him, scolding him. He was a terrible person, but she was right there. So he couldn't resist. He leaned for ward just enough and gently brushed his lips on hers.
It was like a spark had caught fire, woken him up. His eyes snapped open and he jumped back. What had he done? He was so unbelievably selfish. Remus pressed two fingers to his temple.
"Damn it, damn it, damn it." he muttered in a hurried undertone. He'd done it now, ruined everything. This was horrible. And yet surprisingly wonderful. Because kissing Celestina, however briefly, made him feel like a whole person; not a mixed up, mashed together monster.

The kiss was so brief.. but yet.. it seemed such a long time like the entire world around her was working in slow motion. Celestina, needless to say, had never been kissed... there had never been any opportunity for such things.. but it had felt wonderful.. that briefest instant..
His lips brushed hers.. and she had felt like she was in some sort of heaven..
Her face was very pink, though from enjoyment or slight embarrassment from her first kiss.. she couldn't tell.. but when he spoke.. she tenderly pressed her fingers over his lips and gently shook her head.. a soft smile lighting her face.. "You just granted my wish." She murmured softly.

He froze. So she did like him. Well, seeing as neither of his eyes were black, that much was obvious. He could hardly bring himself to look at her, still muttering curses at himself under his breath. He inhaled deeply, clearing his mind so he might function as a normal person. He brought his gaze back to her face.
"I shouldn't have done that." he said softly. How was he supposed to fix this without hurting her feelings? He would hate himself if he made her upset and he had now dragged her into something she didn't understand anything about. He fell back flat on the ground and scrunched his eyes closed, thinking.
"You have no idea. God, I'm a git." he breathed.

Celestina watched him for a few moments.. trying to figure out what all of this meant.. why was it so familiar... what.. could possibly.... and then.. she practically choked.. for she knew what it was. What else could it possibly be? But if she was wrong she would surely offend him.. but could she be wrong? If she was right she might still offend him..
"You're not a git, Remus.." She whispered, turning over to lay on her stomach so she was looking at him on an equal level.. "But... you are .. a werewolf.. aren't you?" She whispered softly.

Remus tensed. His friends hadn't even picked up on it that soon. He was starting to slip. Had he given away too much. She was far more observant and much smarter than he had anticipated. He scanned his mind for a course of action.
Denial
He turned his head and looked at her, face frozen in perfect surprise. He widened his eyes and allowed his mouth to gape a bit. He'd learned that one from the Marauders.
"That's ridiculous." he said, "They'd never let a werewolf in Hogwarts. Have you lost it?"

She rested her chin in the palm of her hand... "Of course not.." She said with a soft smile.. "But I know there's at least one staff member who'd be willing." She said, thinking about her father.. there was no one he would deny an education to.. and the signs had been absolute.. the way he was acting around the moon... and the fact that the full moon would be in a few days...
Sir Nicholas had given her much instruction on the topic of dark creatures.. vampires, werewolves.. all sorts.. and she had come to believe, like him, that not all of them were necessarily bad. Though she had never met an actual werewolf... she was positive.. all Sir Nicholas had taught her.... it was pointing in that direction wasn't it?
"Everything fits.." She murmured softly, almost to herself.. "The moon is full in what.. three ... four days? .. when we came out.. you were completely caught by it... stuck.. even if only for a moment.. and the look on your face.." She shook her head.. "The fact that you're looking... a little bit peaky... your eyes are more amber golden than they were at the start of the week." She kept ticking off everything that matched up, her blue eyes serious.
"Remember, Remus, I said I like solving mysteries.." She murmured, though she had scooted closer to him now, so that she was looking him straight in the eyes,... laying within half an inch from him and, though her heart was pounding.. it wasn't with fear..
