She was making this difficult for him. He wanted to stop but she kept sucking him right back into it. She really was the slut that he had always thought she was. And that thought was never going to change for him, no matter how hard he tried. But here and now, and teenage hormones. This was a lot to take on. He broke away from the second kiss, his lips red and puffy from their contact and just stared at her. Unable think about what to say or do. And quite honestly he wouldn't even know even if he had the ability to think at the moment.

Lyra looked at him, slightly confused. "You stopped," she said, slowly. He was confusing her. And she hated being confused. Blinking, she didn't move away from him. She stood there with barely any space between the two of them, looking lost and confused. Closing her eyes, she sighed silently. Why was this so hard? So confusing? She opened her eyes. So heartbreaking? Because intentional or not, realizing it or not, he was killing her. Not the way she would have approved of, either.

"I..I..I..d-don't quite know..if.if this is the right t-thing to do.." Romeo stuttered, dropping his eyes to the leaf cluttered ground. What was he supposed to do? He knew that he would hurt her in some way shape or form. "I mean..how are we..supposed to know?"

Lyra took a slight step backwards, biting her lip. "Wh- Why wouldn't it- it be right?" she asked. "I mean, if it's how you feel, then it should never be wrong. The only problem is if you didn't feel that way." She was close to shaking, she didin't know if it was because she was cold, or because she was trying to resist the urge to run and hurt herself. But she didn't want to do that. Not over him. She ran her hand through her hair several times, desperate to distract herself. But it was so hard. Her hand twitched and moved to the rubber band on her wrist. She fingered it. Wanted to pop it. Snap it. Make herself pay. Lyra wasn't going to cry; she was stronger than that. She had to be. Though she could get over the fact that the first person she actually cared about, actually had genuine feelings for, was tearing her heart apart. [/blockquote]

"I don't know how I feel Lyra! That's the problem. I don't want to compromise my own belief but I don't want to hurt you as well. I really do like you..but I don't know if its the kind of like that you want me to have." Romeo whined. He liked her, he really did, but it was more of a friendship like than anything else. And..he liked another girl. But what did she care? She was only it for the sex. And at the moment, so was he. "Don't be mad.."

Lyra crossed her arm, involuntarily flinching when her hand made contact with another bruise on her upper arm. She looked away to the ground and shook her head slowly. "This isn't- I'm not- You should understand that- I'm mean, this isn't-" she kept stopping. "I'm not at you," she said, slowly. But I currently hate me, she thought, spitefully. Unable to take the throbbing pain any longer, she uncrossed her arms. The blonde sat down on the ground and leaned back against a tree, flinching again. Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow! her mind screamed, though she refused to open her mouth and let her screams be heard. Her mother's latest boyfriend was far more violent then the others had been. She sighed heavily and leaned against the tree another way, so the small of her back didn't met the tree. "You don't realize that this isn't a game to me. That I'm bending over backwards for you. I don't know what the hell you're doing to me," she said, her eyes going back up to him. "This isn't one of my games." [/blockquote]

Romeo clenched his jaw, his brain racking over all of the possible ways that he could explain this to her. But everything he thought of would make him come off as some sort of ass. This was why he didn't get involved romantically with women. They always wanted something more than what he could provide for them. Taking a few tentive steps forward, he sat down on the log next to her and rested his elbows on his kness. "Maybe it isn't some kind of game. But tell me something..what would happen if I would let this pursue?"

Lyra started playing with her locket again. His question confused her slightly. "What do you mean?" she asked, quietly. Shifting her body slightly trying to get more comfortable, she wasn't succeeding. She was still slightly shocked he hadn't said anything about all the marks though she was somewhat thankful he hadn't. She didn't want to deal with that yet. Turning her head slightly, she cast her eyes towards him. [/blockquote]

Romeo sighed, rolling his eyes ate her as he reached over to slide his hand into hers. "I mean..what would have happened if I hadn't made you stop? Tonight?" He asked quietly. He already knew the answer, or so he thought. But he wanted her to give it to him anyways. "It wouldn't have stopped at just a few kisses would it? Be honest Lyra.."

Lyra looked at him. She thought over the question several times. Would it have stopped? She slowly moved her eyes across the forest. Closing her eyes, she got her answer. She turned back to him, honesty shining in her eyes. "It would have stopped," she said, softly, lacing her hand with his. In her attempts to prove to him that she wasn't who he thought she was, she wouldn't have allowed it to go past kissing. And the fact that that seemed so unlike her scared the hell out of her. "Lyra..i'm sorry..but i don't think that I can give you what you want. Why don't you go find yourself another nice Slytherin guy to settle down with. Hell, you could even have someone from Gryffindor or Ravenclaw if you wanted to." Romeo replied in a somewhat sincere voice. She would probably hurt herself again for this, but it had to be done. He couldn't stay with someone that he didn't love. That would be just stupid. Pulling his wand from his pocket, he tapped her arms, her neck, her back, clearing away some of the bruises there. But some wouldn't go away with just a simple healing charm and they shown dark on her pale skin. "I'm sorry.."

Rubbing her eye in a slightly angry manner, Lyra let a struggled sigh. "I thought I told you to stop apologizing," she said. Looking down at her wrist, which was still marked in deep, dark, purple, she growled. "Damn bruises," she muttered, resisting the urge to slap her wrist as hard as she could. Everytime a new bruise appeared, she blamed herself. Evertime a new scar ran down her thigh, she blamed herself. And evertime she blamed herself, she punished herself by causing more pain than what she originally had. Blinking at the tears that stung her eyes, she sighed. She didn't know how to punish herself for this. Because, once again, she blamed herself for having her heart broken. "They don't mean anything to me. I can't seem to make myself care about them. I'm terrified of relationships because you have to care about someone other than yourself. I can't seem to do that." She slowly looked up at him. But I care about you, she thought, and her eyes reflected the words in her head as the sharp steel colour slowly faded to crystal blue. She brought her eyes down, hoping he didn't notice the tears. Lyra Morgan didn't cry about anything, or anyone. Especially about a boy. But that didn't stop her tears. [/blockquote]
